Content Strategist

Responsibilities

• Plan, write, and improve web content, navigation labels, UX copy, and training materials
• Develop and evolve resident-centered content standards
• Lead content audits, migrations, and redesign efforts for phila.gov
• Facilitate workshops on content creation, information architecture, and plain language
• Train City staff on web writing, accessibility, and content governance
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and product teams
• Monitor and refine content based on data and performance insights

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in content strategy, content design, or web writing
• Experience managing the full content lifecycle, including audits and governance
• Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on plain language and usability
• Experience with content management systems (CMS)
• Familiarity with information architecture and user-centered design principles
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on large-scale websites or service-driven platforms
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
• Experience with analytics tools like Google Analytics
• Instructional design or training experience
• Bilingual skills
