Consultant/Specialist Thoracic Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and surgically manage thoracic conditions including lung cancer, pleural diseases, and mediastinal tumors
• Perform open and minimally invasive thoracic surgeries, including VATS and robotic-assisted surgery
• Manage thoracic oncology cases in collaboration with multidisciplinary tumor boards
• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care, including ICU coordination
• Perform procedures such as lobectomy, pneumonectomy, decortication, and esophageal interventions
• Collaborate with pulmonology, oncology, radiology, and critical care teams
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, patient safety, and international surgical standards
• Participate in clinical audits, research, and mentoring junior doctors

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5+ years of experience post board certification
• FRCS (Thoracic Surgery), American Board, or equivalent recognized sub-specialty certification
• Expertise in minimally invasive thoracic procedures (VATS/Robotic)
• Eligibility for DHA or DOH license conversion
