About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations, risk evaluations, and diagnostic assessments
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of psychiatric conditions, such as mood, anxiety, psychotic, personality, and substance use disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacological and psychotherapeutic approaches
- Provide crisis intervention and acute psychiatric care within outpatient and inpatient settings
- Collaborate with psychologists, counselors, and social workers to ensure integrated, multidisciplinary patient care
- Monitor patient progress, adjust medications, and ensure optimal clinical outcomes
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation in accordance with DHA and international standards
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and preventive strategies
- Participate in clinical governance, audits, and continuous professional development initiatives
Requirements
- American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) certification
- UK CCT / GMC Specialist Register certification
- European Board Certification
- Canadian or Australian Fellowship
- Arab Board / FCPS / MD Psychiatry
- DHA License eligibility or an active license is an advantage
- Minimum 3–5+ years of post-board experience preferred
