Consultant/Specialist Ophthalmologist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive ophthalmic consultations, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of eye conditions
• Perform ophthalmic surgical and microsurgical procedures, including cataract and other vision-related interventions
• Conduct detailed eye examinations and interpret diagnostic tests such as OCT, visual fields, and retinal imaging
• Manage chronic eye diseases including glaucoma, retinal disorders, diabetic retinopathy, and ocular infections
• Deliver pre-operative assessment, post-operative care, and patient education on eye health
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams and maintain accurate medical documentation

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of post-specialty experience in ophthalmology
• Recognised specialist qualification such as American Board, UK CCT, FRCOphth, or equivalent
• Eligibility for DOH, DHA, or MOH licensing
• Proficiency in ophthalmic surgical procedures and microsurgery
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to high-quality patient care

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a multispecialty hospital or advanced eye care center
• Familiarity with modern ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical technologies
• Exposure to quality improvement, clinical audits, and evidence-based practice
