About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive management for critically ill patients with conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, and multi-organ dysfunction
- Lead ICU care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic support, and continuous monitoring
- Perform and supervise advanced life support procedures, including intubation, central line insertion, and arterial line placement
- Coordinate care for post-operative and trauma patients requiring intensive monitoring and intervention
- Participate in rapid response and code blue teams to ensure timely intervention in life-threatening situations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and emergency physicians
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, ICU quality standards, and international critical care guidelines
- Provide family communication and counseling regarding patient condition, prognosis, and treatment plans
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of post-specialty experience in Critical Care Medicine
- Recognized specialist qualifications such as:
- American Board of Internal Medicine (Critical Care)
- American Board of Anesthesiology (Critical Care)
- UK CCT / FRCA / MRCP with Critical Care training
- Royal College Certification (Canada)
- Australian Fellowship (FANZCA / CICM)
- Arab Board in Critical Care Medicine
- DM / DNB / FCPS Critical Care Medicine or equivalent
