About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage projects to ensure they are delivered on-time, within budget, and with high client satisfaction.
- Act as a technical expert by drafting comprehensive reports and providing diligent input to waste projects.
- Lead and support the development of high-quality, competitive proposals and business development initiatives.
- Conduct options appraisals, waste flow and cost modelling, and business case development.
- Provide technical procurement advisory input, including developing tender specifications and evaluating submissions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients to grow the work pipeline.
- Mentor and line manage junior staff members.
Requirements
- Previous experience working for a consultancy, local authority, or similar organization on waste management projects.
- Proven experience in options appraisal (qualitative and quantitative) and waste flow/cost modelling.
- Experience developing technical procurement documentation such as specifications, method statements, or ITTs.
- Strong understanding of UK waste legislation and policy.
- Degree in a relevant subject, preferably in science, environment, or engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex conclusions succinctly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in providing technical advisory input on waste services procurement projects.
- Ability to lead environmental service reviews to identify efficiency improvements and savings.
