Consultant Sports Medicine

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions through clinical assessment and functional evaluation.
• Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans, including concussion management and return-to-play decisions.
• Perform specialized sports medicine procedures such as injections and ultrasound-guided interventions.
• Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, radiologists, and sports scientists to provide integrated care.
• Educate athletes, coaches, and healthcare professionals on injury prevention and performance optimization.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and multidisciplinary case discussions.

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Completion of an approved residency training program.
• Fellowship or Board Certification in Sports Medicine or an equivalent specialization.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-board/fellowship experience as a Consultant in Sports Medicine.
• Eligibility for Consultant licensure with the Qatar healthcare regulatory authority.
• Valid professional registration and a certificate of good standing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing elite athletes and professional sports teams.
• Expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound and image-guided procedures.
