Consultant/Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac surgical procedures including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and complex cardiac surgeries
• Conduct thoracic surgical procedures such as lung resections, mediastinal surgeries, and treatment of thoracic malignancies
• Utilize minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques
• Manage pre-operative evaluation, surgical planning, and post-operative care in coordination with ICU teams
• Collaborate with cardiologists, pulmonologists, and anesthesiologists in multidisciplinary heart team discussions
• Manage cardiothoracic surgical emergencies and acute cardiac conditions
• Interpret advanced diagnostic imaging including echocardiography and CT scans
• Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, surgical safety standards, and clinical governance

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of experience post specialist or board certification
• Recognised specialist qualification (e.g., American Board, UK CCT/FRCS, European Board, Royal College Canada, FRACS, or Arab Board)
• Eligibility for DOH, DHA, or MOH licensing in the UAE
