Consultant - Senior Surveillance and Climate-Health

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on climate-health priorities, vulnerabilities, and systemic bottlenecks.
• Integrate climate-sensitive health risks, air quality management strategies, and disease surveillance into the City Health Action Plan (CHAP) design.
• Co-facilitate stakeholder consultations with government departments, urban local bodies, community representatives, and civil society organizations.
• Contribute substantive technical inputs to the CHAP document and the accompanying CHAP Playbook for the Ministry of Health.
• Prepare narrative reports and presentations containing strategic inputs for the CHAP and the operational playbook.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology, Environmental Health, Health Policy, Urban Health, or a related field.
• 12-15 years of proven experience in program planning and implementation in urban settings and supporting urban health interventions.
• Demonstrated expertise in disease surveillance systems and climate-health risk assessments.
• Proven ability to integrate climate and health considerations into public health programming.
• Strong research, policy analysis, report writing, and presentation skills.
• Fluency in English with high attention to detail and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with development agencies or urban health missions in Asia, particularly in India.
• Experience engaging with urban local bodies and multi-sectoral stakeholders.
