Consultant Psychiatrist

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, mental status examinations, and risk assessments
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia
• Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions
• Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications while ensuring patient safety
• Provide crisis intervention and manage psychiatric emergencies in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings
• Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals within a multidisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and medication adherence
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with hospital policies and UAE healthcare regulations
• Supervise and mentor junior physicians and allied mental health professionals

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
• MD, DPM, Arab Board, CCT, CCST, American Board, or equivalent recognized specialization in Psychiatry
• Valid DHA Consultant license (or eligibility for one)
• 5-10 years of post-specialty experience, including experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist

Preferred Qualifications

• Fellowship or additional training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, Geriatric Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, or Forensic Psychiatry
