About the role
Responsibilities
- Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic reviews
- Act as Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)
- Supervise referral and admission processes and contribute to pre-admission assessments
- Provide psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessment, formulation, and treatment
- Participate in management and clinical governance meetings and contribute to service development
Requirements
- Full GMC registration and inclusion on the relevant Specialist Register
- CCST/CCT (or equivalent) in the appropriate area of Psychiatry
- Experience working in inpatient settings with significant mental health challenges
- Experience in multidisciplinary assessment, formulation, and management planning
