Consultant Psychiatrist Male PICU/Medical Director

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, induction, and probation of medical staff
• Oversee medical staff appraisals, revalidation, and performance management
• Provide strategic and operational leadership as part of the Senior Management Team
• Ensure effective medical cover, including out-of-hours and annual leave arrangements
• Lead clinical investigations, complaints, and crisis management
• Contribute to continuous learning through incident and feedback analysis
• Maintain a clinical caseload and represent the hospital with stakeholders

Requirements

• Consultant Psychiatrist with MRCPsych (or equivalent)
• Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
• CCT (or equivalent) listed on the GMC Specialist Register
• Minimum three years of experience at Consultant level
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
• Track record of contributing to service change and improvement
• Strong leadership and influencing skills
• Willingness to undertake leadership and management training
