Consultant Psychiatrist

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations, risk assessments, and diagnostic evaluations
• Diagnose and manage a broad range of psychiatric conditions such as mood, anxiety, psychotic, personality, and substance use disorders
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans involving pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy
• Provide crisis intervention and acute psychiatric care as required
• Collaborate with psychologists, counselors, social workers, and other medical specialists for integrated patient care
• Monitor treatment progress, adjust medications, and ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain detailed and compliant clinical documentation in line with DHA and international standards
• Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and preventive strategies
• Participate in clinical governance, audits, and continuous professional development initiatives

Requirements

• American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
• UK CCT / GMC Specialist Register
• European Board Certification
• Canadian / Australian Fellowship
• Arab Board / FCPS / MD Psychiatry
• Minimum 3–5+ years of post-board experience
• DHA License eligibility or an active license
