Consultant Psychiatrist - CAMHS

Responsibilities

• Serve as Consultant and Responsible Clinician, leading patient care planning and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Assess and manage complex cases, chairing MDT and CPA meetings
• Liaise with patients, families, and external agencies
• Provide clinical leadership alongside the Ward Manager
• Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards
• Contribute to governance, quality improvement, and service development
• Engage in academic and professional development including teaching, audit, and research

Requirements

• Full GMC registration and on the Specialist Register
• CAMHS CCT or equivalent CESR qualification
• Approved Clinician status
• Significant experience within CAMHS inpatient or community settings
• Strong clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills
• Thorough understanding of Mental Health Act (MHA) and Mental Capacity Act (MCA)
