Consultant Psychiatrist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide pharmacological treatment, psychotherapy, counseling, and behavioral interventions
• Manage both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric cases, including crisis intervention and emergency care
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, neurologists, and social workers
• Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions and preventive care
• Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with Saudi healthcare regulations

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by SCFHS
• Board Certification or Fellowship in Psychiatry
• Valid SCFHS Consultant Registration or eligibility
• 5-7 years of post-board consultant experience in Psychiatry
• Fluency in both Arabic and English is mandatory

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in community psychiatry and multidisciplinary mental health programs
• Exposure to psychotherapy and behavioral therapy approaches
• Academic and research experience
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment
