Consultant Product Manager - Data Protection Security

Responsibilities

• Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Data Domain Data Services, including backup, replication, DR, and archival services.
• Translate customer and market needs into clear requirements, user stories, and use cases for SLA-driven protection and high availability.
• Work closely with Engineering and Architecture to prioritize features and align on design trade-offs for resilient, scalable data services.
• Define and track service-level metrics and KPIs such as RPO/RTO adherence, availability, and recovery performance.
• Collaborate with Security and Cyber Recovery teams to incorporate immutability, ransomware resilience, and cyber recovery capabilities.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Services to develop positioning, packaging, pricing, and sales enablement materials.
• Engage directly with customers and partners to validate use cases and refine priorities for mission-critical workloads.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product management within data protection, storage, infrastructure, or cloud services.
• Deep understanding of backup and recovery concepts, including policy-based protection, retention, and scheduling.
• Strong expertise in SLA-driven protection and high availability, specifically managing services around RPO, RTO, and replication.
• Hands-on familiarity with long-term retention and archival patterns, including archival to object storage and direct-to-object architectures.
• Experience managing enterprise workloads such as databases, file/NAS, VMs, and cloud workloads.
• Understanding of security and cyber recovery concepts, including immutability and ransomware resilience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Support teams.
• Strong analytical, prioritization, and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical value to stakeholders.
• Knowledge of protocols such as NFS, CIFS, S3, and VTL.
