About the role
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
- Provide advanced life support and critical care management for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
- Perform and supervise pediatric critical care procedures including intubation, central venous access, arterial lines, and ventilator management
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing teams
- Respond to pediatric emergencies and rapid response situations
- Develop individualized treatment and care plans based on evidence-based medical practices
- Supervise junior physicians, residents, and PICU staff
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and medical records
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and continuing medical education activities
Requirements
- MBBS or Medical Degree with specialization in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
- Board Certification, CCT, Fellowship, European Board, American Board, or equivalent recognized qualification
- Minimum 5 years of Consultant-level PICU experience
- Eligibility for Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) licensing
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- UK CCT, Irish, European, Australian, Canadian, or American Board Certification
- Expertise in pediatric ventilation, sedation, and advanced critical care procedures
- Experience in high-acuity PICU settings or internationally accredited hospitals
