About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver expert care to high-acuity pediatric patients in the PICU
- Perform advanced procedures including mechanical ventilation, ECMO, and invasive monitoring
- Collaborate with pediatricians, surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals
- Design individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to clinical education programs
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and uphold international care standards
- Participate in clinical research and stay current with PICU advancements
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution
- Board certification in Pediatric Intensive Care or Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
- Mandatory Western training (USA, UK, Canada, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3–5 years post-board experience in a consultant PICU role
- Proven expertise in advanced pediatric critical care techniques
- Strong leadership, communication, and family-centered care philosophy
- Eligibility for DHA Consultant licensure (Dubai Health Authority)
