Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid assessment, diagnosis, and management of pediatric patients with acute medical, surgical, and trauma-related conditions
• Stabilize and manage life-threatening pediatric emergencies, including respiratory distress, sepsis, and cardiac events
• Perform emergency procedures such as airway management, intubation, resuscitation, and vascular access
• Lead and participate in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and resuscitation protocols
• Collaborate with pediatricians, intensivists, and surgeons to ensure appropriate patient care and discharge planning
• Provide family-centered care and communicate effectively with parents regarding diagnosis and treatment
• Manage triage and patient flow within the pediatric emergency department
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of experience post board certification
• Recognized board certification such as American Board, UK CCT/FRCEM/MRCPCH, or European Board Certification
• Specialized experience in pediatric emergency care
• Eligibility for DHA, DOH, or MOH license conversion
