Consultant Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency assessment and management for pediatric patients presenting with acute medical, surgical, and trauma conditions
• Lead pediatric resuscitation efforts, including advanced airway management and life-saving interventions
• Perform emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, fracture reduction, wound repair, and procedural sedation
• Coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, surgeons, and intensivists to ensure safe patient flow
• Contribute to the strategic development of pediatric emergency services and clinical pathways
• Mentor junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment plans clearly and compassionately to families
• Participate in clinical research, morbidity and mortality reviews, and teaching activities

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution
• Board Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or equivalent (e.g., American Board, Royal College, Arab Board)
• 8–10 years of post-specialization experience, including consultant-level practice
• Eligibility for Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH/HAAD) Consultant licensure
• Strong clinical expertise in pediatric resuscitation, trauma, and acute care
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage
