Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care management for pediatric cardiac patients, including pre-operative stabilization and post-operative management following congenital heart surgery.
• Manage complex cases involving ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Lead daily PCICU rounds and coordinate multidisciplinary care plans with cardiologists, surgeons, and nursing teams.
• Interpret complex diagnostic data including echocardiography and hemodynamic studies.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the Pediatric Cardiac ICU service and develop clinical protocols.
• Mentor junior physicians, fellows, and critical care nursing staff.
• Communicate complex clinical information clearly and compassionately to families.
• Participate in clinical research, audits, and quality improvement projects.

Requirements

• Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
• Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesiology.
• Fellowship training specifically in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care.
• 8–10 years of post-specialization experience, including consultant-level practice in a high-volume cardiac center.
• Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Consultant licensure.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
• Strong leadership and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
