Consultant Paediatrician

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care including outpatient clinics, inpatient ward rounds, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Develop a subspecialty interest in areas such as acute leukaemia, myeloid malignancies, or stem cell transplantation
• Participate in the on-call rota for haematology emergencies
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
• Involve yourself in clinical governance, audit, and service development
• Engage in research and clinical trials

Requirements

• Full registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
• Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Haematology (or within 6 months of interview)
• Relevant postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., FRCPath)
• Experience in managing both malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions
• Commitment to teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous improvement
