Consultant Ophthalmologist (Reconstructive)

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage ophthalmic and periocular disorders requiring reconstructive and oculoplastic intervention
• Perform reconstructive ophthalmic surgeries including eyelid reconstruction, lacrimal surgeries, orbital procedures, and trauma reconstruction
• Evaluate and manage patients with orbital diseases, eyelid malpositions, tumors, and tear drainage disorders
• Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient ophthalmology consultations
• Collaborate with ENT, maxillofacial, plastic surgery, and oncology teams for complex cases
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with DOH regulations and hospital policies
• Provide patient and family counseling regarding treatment plans and postoperative care

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi
• Board Certification or Fellowship in Ophthalmology
• Subspecialty training in Oculoplastic/Reconstructive Ophthalmology
• Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter
• 5–7 years of post-specialist experience in reconstructive ophthalmology

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in tertiary eye care or academic medical centers
• Exposure to complex orbital and facial reconstructive surgeries
• Research and teaching experience
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural healthcare environment
