Consultant Neurosurgery

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage patients with disorders affecting the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system
• Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures within the scope of granted clinical privileges
• Provide comprehensive pre-operative, operative, and post-operative neurosurgical care
• Manage neurosurgical emergencies and participate in the on-call coverage roster
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient treatment plans
• Interpret diagnostic imaging and other investigations relevant to neurosurgical practice
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and patient safety programs
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding treatment options and outcomes
• Support teaching, mentoring, and clinical development activities within the department

Requirements

• MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical qualification recognized by the relevant regulatory authority
• Completion of an accredited residency and higher specialty training program in Neurosurgery
• Consultant qualification recognized under UAE PQR (e.g., Arab Board, American Board, CCT/CCST, etc.)
• Minimum of 3 years of post-certification experience as a Consultant Neurosurgeon
• Valid DOH License as Consultant Neurosurgery or eligibility to obtain one
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Demonstrated expertise in cranial, spinal, and emergency neurosurgical procedures
• Strong clinical decision-making, surgical, and leadership skills
