Consultant Neuro-Ophthalmologist

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage optic nerve and neuro-visual pathway disorders
• Treat conditions including optic neuritis, papilledema, diplopia, visual field defects, and neuro-ophthalmic emergencies
• Interpret and correlate neuro-imaging (MRI/CT) relevant to ophthalmic conditions
• Work collaboratively with neurology, neurosurgery, endocrinology, and radiology teams
• Provide care for both adult and pediatric neuro-ophthalmic patients if dual-trained
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and teaching activities

Requirements

• Tier 1 qualification (American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, or NZ Fellowship)
• Fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology
• Minimum 5 years of Consultant-level experience
• DOH license or eligibility (or equivalent UAE/Saudi/Qatar licensing pathways)

Preferred Qualifications

• Dual training in Pediatric Ophthalmology to support both adult and pediatric neuro-visual services
