About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborns in the NICU
- Diagnose and manage neonatal conditions including respiratory distress, sepsis, and congenital anomalies
- Perform advanced procedures such as neonatal resuscitation, endotracheal intubation, and umbilical line placement
- Lead neonatal emergency response and stabilization efforts in delivery rooms
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatric surgeons, and nursing teams to develop individualized treatment plans
- Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, and NICU nursing staff
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Board Certification in Pediatrics
- Fellowship or Subspecialty Certification in Neonatology
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Consultant Neonatologist in a Level III or IV NICU
- Extensive experience in advanced neonatal resuscitation and ventilator management
- Eligibility for licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)
Preferred Qualifications
- Western Board Certification (UK CCT, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, or Australian Fellowship)
- Experience in tertiary-care hospitals and high-volume NICUs
- Research, teaching, or academic involvement in neonatology
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
