About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for premature, critically ill, and high-risk newborns in the NICU
  • Diagnose and manage neonatal conditions including respiratory distress, sepsis, and congenital anomalies
  • Perform advanced procedures such as neonatal resuscitation, endotracheal intubation, and umbilical line placement
  • Lead neonatal emergency response and stabilization efforts in delivery rooms
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatric surgeons, and nursing teams to develop individualized treatment plans
  • Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, and NICU nursing staff
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics
  • Fellowship or Subspecialty Certification in Neonatology
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Consultant Neonatologist in a Level III or IV NICU
  • Extensive experience in advanced neonatal resuscitation and ventilator management
  • Eligibility for licensure with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Western Board Certification (UK CCT, American Board, Canadian Fellowship, or Australian Fellowship)
  • Experience in tertiary-care hospitals and high-volume NICUs
  • Research, teaching, or academic involvement in neonatology
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
