Consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with physical impairments, musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, and functional disabilities
• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans aimed at restoring mobility, function, and independence
• Utilize a wide range of therapeutic modalities including exercise therapy, manual therapy, electrotherapy, and assistive devices
• Lead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and nurses
• Provide patient and family education on injury prevention, functional adaptation, and long-term wellness strategies
• Monitor, evaluate, and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance, quality standards, and evidence-based rehabilitation protocols

Requirements

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution
• Board Certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
• Minimum 5 years of post-certification experience, preferably in a hospital or specialized rehabilitation center
• Strong knowledge of current rehabilitation technologies and treatment techniques
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-counselling skills
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is preferred
