Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health and social care assessments for older adults
• Act as Care Co-ordinator for assessment, planning, and implementation of evidence-based care
• Manage clinical risks through person-centred care plans and risk assessments
• Provide clinical supervision, training, and consultation to Community Services teams
• Participate in service development, care pathways, and treatment protocols
• Liaise with professionals and agencies and provide shift-by-shift team leadership
• Communicate effectively with neurodiverse individuals, families, and staff
• Produce high-quality, detailed reports in a timely manner

Requirements

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Psychiatry
• Full registration with the appropriate professional body
• Expertise in geriatric mental health and high-level clinical skills
• Evidence of commitment, trust, integrity, and kindness in professional practice
• Willingness to work flexibly across clinic models, venues, and days
• Good communication skills and IT literacy
• Commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
