Consultant in Medical Oncology (Breast & HPB)

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-led medical oncology input for patients with early and advanced breast cancer
• Lead and participate in breast oncology outpatient clinics
• Contribute to the Breast MDT working with surgery, radiology, and pathology
• Provide medical oncology input for patients with HPB malignancies including pancreatic and gallbladder cancer
• Lead and participate in HPB oncology outpatient clinics
• Contribute to the HPB MDT working with hepatobiliary surgery and gastroenterology
• Participate in the medical oncology on-call rota
• Oversee the safe management of oncological emergencies

Requirements

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Medical Oncology or within six months of eligibility
• MRCP (UK) or equivalent specialist qualification
• Completion of a recognised higher specialty training programme in Medical Oncology
• Demonstrable subspecialty experience in breast and/or HPB oncology
• Competence in independent prescribing and monitoring of SACT
