Consultant in Eating Disorders Psychiatry

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments, formulate accurate diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions
• Provide consultation and support to primary care providers, community mental health teams, and other stakeholders involved in the care of adults with mental health needs
• Participate in service development initiatives, quality improvement projects, and research activities to enhance the delivery of mental health care services for adults

Requirements

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
• Section 12 approval essential
• Approved clinician status essential
• Demonstrated expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in adults, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, and personality disorders
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to continuous professional development and engagement in clinical governance activities
