Consultant in Adult Psychiatry

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality psychiatric services to adults, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions
• Develop and implement individualised care plans and provide therapeutic interventions
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care
• Manage complex cases and provide specialist advice
• Engage in service evaluation, audit, and research to enhance care quality
• Liaise with external professionals and carers
• Prepare written and oral evidence for hearings
• Ensure effective handover to colleagues

Requirements

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
• Experience working in adult psychiatry
• Strong assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in service evaluation and research
