About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead clinical care for patients in a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting
- Provide Responsible Clinician input and oversee physical health care
- Collaborate with community teams, external partners, and prison mental health teams
- Supervise and mentor trainees and medical staff
- Attend Mental Health Tribunals and facilitate early patient discharge
- Ensure effective communication with General Practitioners
- Participate in Quality Improvement Projects and Serious Incident investigations
Requirements
- Full GMC licence to practice
- Section 12 approval
- Approved Clinician status
- Previous experience in a similar consultant role
