Consultant in Adult Psychiatry

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with complex mental health conditions
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to care planning and risk management
• Ensure high standards of clinical governance
• Supervise junior medical staff
• Participate in service development and engage with external stakeholders to support integrated care pathways

Requirements

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Inclusion on the Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry
• Extensive experience in adult mental health services
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience
• Excellent communication, clinical, and decision-making skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Section 12 approval
• Approved Clinician status
