Consultant in Adult Psychiatry

Responsibilities

• Work across general adult mental health services, including inpatient units and Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT)
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments
• Lead on treatment planning
• Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team
• Participate in ward rounds and case conferences
• Ensure documentation is maintained in line with NHS standards

Requirements

• GMC registration
• Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status
• Inclusion on the Specialist Register with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry
• Experience in general adult psychiatry, including inpatient and CMHT settings
• Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
