Consultant Histopathologist

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality histopathology diagnostic services within your area of specialist expertise
• Report a broad range of histopathology specimens and contribute to departmental service delivery
• Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings relevant to your subspecialty interests
• Support the development and enhancement of specialist pathology services across the group
• Supervise and support junior doctors, trainees, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with GMC standards
• Engage in teaching, research, and educational activities
• Undertake Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) including appraisal, revalidation, and CPD

Requirements

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Histopathology, or within six months of obtaining CCT
• FRCPath qualification or equivalent recognised qualification
• Experience in reporting general histopathology cases
• Expertise or strong interest in Paediatric/Perinatal, Dermatopathology, or GI Pathology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
