Consultant Geriatric Medicine Physician

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments, including functional, cognitive, psychological, and social evaluations
• Diagnose and manage complex medical conditions in elderly patients, including multimorbidity, frailty, and polypharmacy
• Develop and implement individualized care plans focusing on long-term health, rehabilitation, and quality of life
• Manage chronic diseases such as dementia, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and nurses
• Provide falls risk assessment, mobility management, and rehabilitation planning
• Support end-of-life care, palliative care, and advanced care planning discussions
• Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety programs

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of experience post board certification
• American Board (Internal Medicine / Geriatric Medicine) or UK CCT (Geriatric Medicine / Internal Medicine)
• European Board Certification or Royal College Certification
• Eligibility for DHA, DOH, or MOH license conversion
• Expertise in managing complex geriatric and neurodegenerative disorders
