Consultant Gastroenterologist

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and biliary disorders
• Conduct comprehensive outpatient consultations and provide inpatient gastroenterology services
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy
• Execute advanced endoscopic procedures including polypectomy, endoscopic hemostasis, dilation, and PEG insertion
• Interpret laboratory investigations, pathology reports, imaging studies, and endoscopic findings
• Develop individualized treatment plans and provide preventive care and colorectal cancer screening
• Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with hospital policies and Oman Ministry of Health regulations
• Supervise junior physicians, residents, and allied healthcare professionals

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
• MD/DNB in Internal Medicine or equivalent
• DM/DNB/Fellowship/CCT/Board Certification in Gastroenterology
• Valid Oman License or eligibility for licensure
• 5-8 years of post-specialty experience, including experience as a Consultant Gastroenterologist
• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in advanced endoscopy, ERCP, EUS, or hepatology
