Consultant Fetal Medicine

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive fetal medicine services for high-risk pregnancies and complex fetal conditions
• Perform detailed fetal assessments including anomaly scans, fetal echocardiography, Doppler studies, and genetic testing
• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, and geneticists to develop individualized management plans
• Perform prenatal interventions such as fetal blood sampling, intrauterine transfusions, and fetal shunt placement
• Provide compassionate counseling to patients and families regarding fetal diagnoses and treatment options
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Support the training and mentorship of junior doctors and allied health staff

Requirements

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution
• Specialist qualification in Fetal Medicine from a recognized training program
• Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in fetal medicine
• Proven expertise in advanced fetal imaging, prenatal diagnostics, and fetal interventions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a significant advantage
