Consultant Emergency Medicine

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Emergency Medicine Department to ensure high standards of clinical care and operational efficiency
• Provide expert diagnosis and management of acute medical and surgical emergencies across all age groups
• Supervise and perform advanced emergency procedures including airway management, trauma resuscitation, and critical care stabilization
• Develop and implement departmental policies, protocols, and evidence-based practices
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management of medical and nursing teams
• Mentor, train, and support junior doctors, residents, and allied health professionals
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and multidisciplinary teams to optimize emergency care pathways
• Lead departmental audits, CME activities, and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Medical degree with specialization in Emergency Medicine
• Board certification or equivalent in Emergency Medicine
• 10–15 years of post-specialization experience
• Proven experience in a Head of Department (HOD) or senior leadership role
• Eligibility for licensing with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
• Demonstrated expertise in trauma, resuscitation, and critical emergency procedures
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
