Consultant Critical Care Medicine

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
• Provide advanced life support and management for respiratory failure, sepsis, trauma, and multi-organ dysfunction.
• Perform critical care procedures including intubation, central venous catheter insertion, arterial line placement, and ventilator management.
• Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and coordinate comprehensive patient management plans.
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, surgery, anesthesia, and other specialties for integrated care.
• Supervise junior physicians, residents, and ICU staff.
• Participate in rapid response teams, code blue management, and hospital emergency preparedness.
• Ensure accurate medical documentation and compliance with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations.
• Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement programs.

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
• Board Certification or Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, or Anesthesia Critical Care.
• Valid DOH Consultant License or Eligibility Letter.
• 5–7 years of post-board consultant experience in ICU/Critical Care Medicine within a tertiary care or academic hospital.
• ACLS certification.
• Strong expertise in ventilator management and sepsis care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ECMO, CRRT, bronchoscopy, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
• Academic, teaching, or research experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multicultural healthcare environment.
