Consultant Cardiac Transplant Physician

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients with advanced heart failure and heart transplantation needs
• Conduct pre-transplant assessments, listing evaluations, and post-transplant follow-up care
• Manage immunosuppression protocols, rejection surveillance, infection prevention, and long-term graft monitoring
• Assess suitability for mechanical circulatory support, including LVAD and ECMO
• Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and transplant coordinators
• Participate in transplant selection committees, quality improvement initiatives, and academic activities
• Support teaching, research, and mentoring within the department

Requirements

• MBBS/MD or equivalent qualification
• Board certification in cardiology or internal medicine
• Subspecialty training in Advanced Heart Failure & cardiac transplantation
• Fellowship from a recognized international transplant center
• 3–5 years of post-fellowship experience in cardiac transplant medicine
• Strong knowledge of international transplant guidelines, including ISHLT and ACC/AHA standards
• Excellent clinical, communication, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
