Construction Superintendent/SSHO

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, and supervise various trade groups on-site to meet contract requirements and project schedules.
• Implement and manage the project safety program, ensuring compliance with 29 CFR 1926 and USACE EM 385-1-1.
• Plan and conduct daily safety meetings, Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) trainings, and weekly progress meetings.
• Perform regular site inspections, safety audits, and accident investigations including root cause analysis.
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and subcontractor scopes of work to prevent interference between trades.
• Inspect work quality to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and building codes.
• Assist with project estimates, bid packages, pay estimates, and 3-week look-ahead schedules.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 7+ years of supervisory construction experience.
• 5+ years of Construction Safety Training.
• 30-hour OSHA certification.
• 40-hour EM 385-1-1 certification.
• Experience with Federal DOD Government contracting.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clear driving abstract.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction-related degree.
• Current Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certificate.
• Contractor's Quality Control Certificate (Corps of Engineers or NAVFAC).
• Competent person training in scaffolding, excavation, fall protection, or confined spaces.
