About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead procurement, budgeting, scheduling, and execution of new construction and acquisition-rehabilitation projects
- Review project designs for constructability, budget, and schedule alignment
- Develop preliminary construction budgets, schedules, and procurement plans
- Manage detailed project budgets, schedules, and forecasting tools
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Prepare, negotiate, and administer subcontract agreements and change orders
- Manage project documentation within Procore, including RFIs and submittals
- Supervise and support Superintendents and field staff through coaching and mentorship
- Coordinate permit acquisition and regulatory approvals with local jurisdictions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing residential or multifamily construction projects
- Experience developing and forecasting complex construction budgets and schedules
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Valid California driver's license with ability to travel to project sites
- Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and navigate construction sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing affordable housing or nonprofit development projects
- Experience with publicly funded housing developments and compliance
- PMP or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
- Experience supervising construction field staff and multidisciplinary teams
