About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all facets of pre-construction, bidding, construction, and close-out phases for assigned projects
- Review pre-construction documents and provide necessary feedback to designers
- Prepare and present progress reports to upper management regarding project status
- Coordinate with public agencies and District staff to ensure compliance with all off-site work requirements
- Manage project budgets and schedules to meet client standards, including monthly budget monitoring
- Negotiate Contractor Change Order Proposals and address schedule impacts in a timely manner
- Monitor payments for contractors, architects, engineers, and other pertinent parties
- Administer Professional Service Agreements between architects and the client
- Oversee project close-out, including certification with the Division of State Architects (DSA) and financial close-out
Requirements
- BA/BS degree with 4 years of relevant construction experience, OR
- AA/AS degree with 6 years of relevant construction experience, OR
- HS/GED with 8 years of relevant construction experience
- Ability to pass State and Federal criminal history/security background checks
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a similar discipline
- Experience in commercial or public/educational facility construction with project values exceeding $30M
- Knowledge of Florida DOE regulations and Florida Statutes regarding educational facilities
- Familiarity with safety and OSHA regulations
