Construction Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as the on-site representative for the NYC SCA, overseeing various construction and modernization projects for schools throughout New York City.
• Provide administration and coordination for the design and construction of complex or highly visible projects.
• Ensure quality, high performance, and compliance by all consultants and vendors.
• Manage project phasing and scheduling to ensure completion on time and within approved cost limitations.
• Interface regularly with contractors, construction managers, local school personnel, and senior management.
• Resolve issues and problems identified in field reports from architects and construction management staff.
• Provide guidance and advice to lower-level Project Officers.

Requirements

• BA/BS in a related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• 5 years of progressively responsible work as a technical specialist in construction or design-related fields.
• 2 years of experience managing all phases of construction work on a similar scale and scope.

Preferred Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
