About the role
Responsibilities
- Build form work, install rebar, and place concrete for underground construction projects
- Install structural steel and ground support/rock dowels
- Install mechanical equipment including overhead cranes, gates, and hydraulics
- Operate jacklegs, stoppers, air tuggers, and underground mobile equipment
- Inspect work headings for compliance with codes and safety standards
Requirements
- Basic Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core (U0000, U0001, U0002 & U0012) or equivalent
- Specialty module U0086 required
- Minimum 5 years of underground construction experience
- Willingness to work at various underground mine sites
- Ability to undergo pre-employment testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in welding and fabrication
- Experience with maintenance and installation of crushers, conveyors, grizzlies, and chutes
