About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage environmental remediation, demolition, and early site preparation for WGU's multi-phase national headquarters development in downtown Salt Lake City.
- Oversee environmental consultants, demolition contractors, civil engineers, and surveyors to ensure project alignment.
- Coordinate environmental permitting, regulatory approvals, and agency engagement.
- Monitor remediation work and demolition sequencing to ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Manage site logistics, including staging, site access, and traffic coordination.
- Support cost forecasting, schedule planning, and risk management for early site development.
- Transition to supporting broader construction and development activities as the project advances into vertical construction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, environmental science, or a related field (equivalent relevant experience may be considered).
- 7–12 years of experience in site development, environmental remediation, demolition, or early-stage construction for large commercial or institutional developments.
- Proven experience managing environmental consultants and demolition contractors.
- Familiarity with environmental regulatory processes, remediation strategies, and permitting requirements.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams in complex urban or campus-scale environments.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Salt Lake City, UT.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with complex urban developments or large-scale institutional campus projects.
- Experience coordinating with local government agencies and regulatory authorities regarding site entitlements and property coordination.
