Construction Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage construction work activities performed by external companies to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget
• Oversee all activities performed by construction contractors and facilitate regular progress meetings
• Ensure compliance with Sandia Corporation, Facilities Management, and Environment, Safety, and Health (ES&H) requirements
• Coordinate with construction management support, ES&H teams, system engineers, and customers to manage work schedules
• Develop coordinated construction contractor schedules aligned to assigned geographic areas or teams
• Provide guidance and leadership to other Construction Managers within the department
• Support Project Managers with design reviews and the approval of project cost and schedule impacts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related Engineering degree
• Two or more years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)
• Ability to work onsite in Albuquerque, NM

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced technical degree in construction or project management
• Experience with Newforma, Primavera, or Microsoft Project
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• OSHA-10-hour training or higher and knowledge of International Building Codes (IBC)
• Experience working within Sandia National Laboratories processes and procedures
