Construction Manager

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite construction oversight, including inspections, safety observations, quality assurance, and compliance verification for minor construction projects.
• Assist with the review of Construction Management Plans, Site Specific Health and Safety Plans, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans.
• Support federal oversight of design development, construction execution, and project closeout activities to ensure compliance with DOE and NNSA requirements.
• Support acquisition planning, cost estimating, project scheduling, risk management, and commissioning.
• Review project cost and schedule performance reporting and provide oversight regarding potential unallowable project costs.
• Document all oversight activities, including observation reports and weekly summaries, and identify concerns for the Federal Program Manager.
• Interface directly with the Los Alamos Field Office COR serving as the onsite task monitor.

Requirements

• Active Q clearance or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
• BA/BS degree.
• 10+ years of experience in a construction management related field.
• Broad technical competency in at least one major discipline (civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, or electrical).
• Knowledge of IBC, NEC, ASME, and similar consensus standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong professional written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
• Knowledge of LANL policies and procedures.
• Ability to assist in the analysis of technical issues and development of facility requirements.
