About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite construction oversight, including inspections, safety observations, quality assurance, and compliance verification for minor construction projects.
- Assist with the review of Construction Management Plans, Site Specific Health and Safety Plans, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans.
- Support federal oversight of design development, construction execution, and project closeout activities to ensure compliance with DOE and NNSA requirements.
- Support acquisition planning, cost estimating, project scheduling, risk management, and commissioning.
- Review project cost and schedule performance reporting and provide oversight regarding potential unallowable project costs.
- Document all oversight activities, including observation reports and weekly summaries, and identify concerns for the Federal Program Manager.
- Interface directly with the Los Alamos Field Office COR serving as the onsite task monitor.
Requirements
- Active Q clearance or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire.
- BA/BS degree.
- 10+ years of experience in a construction management related field.
- Broad technical competency in at least one major discipline (civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, or electrical).
- Knowledge of IBC, NEC, ASME, and similar consensus standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong professional written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
- Knowledge of LANL policies and procedures.
- Ability to assist in the analysis of technical issues and development of facility requirements.
