About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform inspection and surveillance of complex construction projects
- Ensure contractor compliance with approved plans and specifications
- Inspect materials, installation, and testing of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Coordinate with contractor representatives regarding scheduling and workmanship
- Resolve conflicts involving the interpretation of plans and specifications
- Monitor and evaluate contract progress schedules and identify delays
- Review contractor cost breakdowns and progress measurement data to compute periodic payments
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in construction observation and oversight of complex federal projects
- Extensive knowledge of Building Code requirements and equipment diagnostics
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management
- APMP or PMP certification
